Dr. Walid Arnaout received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon in 1985. He then completed a one-year surgical internship at the American University of Beirut Medical Center in Lebanon from 1985-1986. Additionally, Dr. Arnaout completed his Fellowship in the Department of Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee from 1987-1989.
After completing his research fellowship training, Dr. Arnaout went on to complete his surgical residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center until 1993 when he became the Chief Resident of General Surgery. In 1994 he started his dual multi-organ transplant fellowship training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Dumont-UCLA Transplant Center at the UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles, CA until 1996.
In January 1996, after completing his fellowship in liver, kidney, and pancreas transplant as well as hepatobiliary & pancreatic surgery, Dr. Arnaout became a full-time faculty member and an assistant professor of surgery at the Dumont UCLA Transplant Center. In addition, he became an attending surgeon and later the Associate Director of Liver Transplant Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center until 2001. During his tenure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and UCLA Medical Center Dr. Arnaout gained a vast experience in surgery of the liver and pancreas for both benign and malignant diseases.
Realizing the need for his expertise in General Surgery as well as complex liver and pancreas oncologic surgery in his community, Dr. Arnaout moved his practice to the San Fernando Valley and Ventura County area where he maintains his private practice. For over 10 years, Dr. Arnaout has maintained private practice in general surgery, trauma, and surgical oncology.
With licensure in California, Dr. Walid Arnaout has over 34 years of experience as a general surgeon who specializes in surgery of the liver, bile ducts, and pancreas. He works closely with every patient to ensure surgical excellence is provided in a caring environment.
